Senior Underwriter – Mid Ticket

salary up to £95,000 + bonus up to 20% + excellent benefits.

Our client a leading asset financier for whom we have sourced a number of staff are seeking a senior underwriter to join their middle ticket underwriting team.

Our clients route to the customer is via lease brokers so you can expect to have contact with brokers plus asset valuers and external legal as part of your role plus a wide range of internal stakeholders to SLT level.

Reporting to the Head of Credit and Risk your role will focus on underwriting transactions above £500,000 and with an upper exposure limit of £10m.

You will expected to hold a direct authority of £2m for hard assets and £500,000 for soft assets and be able to confidently present transactions to the SLT of above this size as part of your day to day role.

Candidate Profile

To apply for the position you must be able to work at our clients central London offices for 50% of the time on a rotating basis of 3 days in one week and 2 the next. This is a pre requisite to apply.

Beyond this you must have a strong background of underwriting asset finance transactions of £500,000 plus in size and ideally of £1m plus.

Our client are ideally seeking experience of both hard and soft assets for this position , those with experience of both are the preferred profile.

A pre requisite to apply for this role is to possess the ability to present larger and more complex transactions to the transactional credit committee that is made up of a number of members of the senior leadership team.

You must therefore possess not only excellent credit analysis skills but also the ability to articulate confidently and concisely your arguments to support your proposal both in writing and on your feet.
