Our client a leading asset financier for whom we have sourced a number of staff are seeking a vehicle stocking underwriter to join their underwriting team. In this role you will also have temporary responsibility for portfolio management covering for the absence of a colleague on maternity leave. Our clients route to the customer is via vehicle dealers and lease brokers so you can expect to have contact with dealers, lease brokers plus asset valuers and external legal as part of your role plus a wide range of internal stakeholders to SLT level. Reporting to the Head of Credit and Risk your role will focus largely on underwriting vehicle stocking finance transactions to a single vehicle value of £500,000 and with an upper exposure limit of £10m You will expected to hold a direct authority that matches similar roles in our clients asset finance business of £2m for hard assets and £500,000 for soft assets and be able to confidently present transactions to the SLT of above this size as part of your day to day role. Candidate Profile To apply for the position you must be able to work at our clients central London offices for 50% of the time on a rotating basis of 3 days in one week and 2 the next. This is a pre requisite to apply. Beyond this you must have a strong background of underwriting stocking finance transactions these can be cars or LCV’s or may be other asset classes motorhomes , agricultural assets etc this is a pre requisite to apply. Candidates who also have middle ticket asset finance underwriting experience are welcome to apply but the key requirement to be considered is to have a depth of stocking finance underwriting experience. A key requirement of this role is to possess the ability to present larger and more complex transactions to the transactional credit committee that is made up of a number of members of the senior leadership team. You must therefore possess not only excellent credit analysis skills but also the ability to articulate confidently and concisely your arguments to support your proposal both in writing and on your feet.
