New head of international development appointed at BNP Paribas Leasing

Olivier de Ryck, previously in charge of BNP Paribas Leasing Solutions’ Europe Division, has been appointed head of the International Development Division. He remains a member of BNP Paribas Leasing Solutions’ Steering Committee.

After he graduated in Electronics Civil Engineering and from a Postgraduate program in Business Administration (MBA) in 1989, Olivier de Ryck entered the Générale de Banque Group in Brussels.

In 1992, he was seconded to the Banque Régionale du Nord in Lille as European Desk Manager.  Four years later, he became manager of the International branch of the Banque Parisienne de Crédit in Paris, for which he ran the multinational companies’ commercial banking activities.

In 2000, he became Business Center manager for SME and corporate companies for the Fortis Banque Group. Then, in 2004, he was appointed general manager of the French leasing subsidiary of Fortis Group, Fortis Lease. In 2009, he became regional manager of the Fortis Lease Group and he then supervised France, Belgium, Switzerland, Italy, Poland, Romania, China, Malaysia and Singapore.

De Ryck then joined the executive committee of BNP Paribas Leasing Solutions in 2010 as head of the Mediterranean Europe Division and he successively supervised Turkey, Poland, Ukraine, Spain, Portugal, Austria, Romania, Hungary and Switzerland and proved support for the leasing activities of the group on the African continent.

From January 1st 2014, de Ryck will head the International Development Division. He will particularly be in charge of developing the leasing activities in India, China and in the US (via Bank of the West).

He will succeed to Thierry Bonetto, who was appointed co-managing director of BNP Paribas Leasing Solutions Italy.
