Leasing Professionals Close Brothers Asset Finance Academy puts diversity at heart of growth Published: 30th May 2018 Share Close Brothers Asset Finance is partnering with CBC Resourcing Solutions on a nationwide sales trainee recruitment programme that will have diversity at its core. Recruits will take part in the Close Brothers Asset Finance Sales Academy, which was established to source and train the next generation of sales professionals in the asset finance market. Applicants can include those already employed in asset finance who haven’t yet considered a career in sales, or delegates from outside the industry. CBC will lead the search for 16 new recruits, at least half of whom will be women, to take part in the latest programme, starting in September. After their training, the new recruits will play a key role in supporting Close Brothers Asset Finance customers, providing specialist expertise and support for their finance requirements. Close Brothers Asset Finance launched its first academy three years ago, with participants being appointed both internally and externally. Steve Gee, CEO of the industrial equipment division of Close Brothers Asset Finance, said: “As a result of the first sales academy, we now have around 15 highly talented additional sales people in our business who have received detailed training in asset finance, so they can provide the best service to our customers. “Following the success of the inaugural programme, we will be running a second Academy, starting this September, albeit we are very mindful of the gender gap that exists in this sector. “That is why we are looking for 50% of recruits to be female. This is traditionally a male-dominated industry, however we believe it is personality and aptitude that creates success. At Close Brothers Asset Finance we are intent on increasing our diversity so that we may have access to the nation’s top talent and can serve our customers in the best possible way” “CBC are our preferred choice for finding external candidates and they are looking throughout the UK now.” In preparation for the second training academy, Close Brothers Asset Finance has also been running an innovative ‘step into sales’ programme, offering existing employees the opportunity to experience life as a salesperson in Close Brothers, with female candidates making up the majority of delegates. Graeme Chisholm, director of CBC, said: “We are delighted to partner with Close Brothers Asset Finance on this important recruitment programme. Sourcing the best candidates with a focus on diversity provides a great foundation for long-term growth.” Interested candidates for the academy should contact the team at CBC on 0161 486 0011 or visit the website by clicking here.
