BCA appointment focuses on digital business growth

BCA has announced the appointment of Jonny Crowe as chief digital officer for BCA Group.

Reporting to the executive chairman, Avril Palmer-Baunack, Crowe will be responsible for leading BCA’s IT, data science and digital product departments as the company focuses on developing these areas to drive efficiency, integration and business growth.

BCA’s digital offering has grown significantly in recent years and Crowe’s appointment will accelerate the development of new tools, products and services to meet the needs of customers across the industry.

Crowe has founded, run, invested in and bought many types of digital companies, including paid search, price comparison, online media, classifieds and B2C e-commerce.

An experienced internet and media executive, he most recently worked with Apax Partners as an operating advisor and previously gained a wide range of diverse experience as interim CEO of leading Dutch online retailer Wehkamp, interim CEO of web-portal owners Grupa Onet Pl SA, chief digital officer of integrated multimedia company Ringier Axel Springer and COO Europe of Naspers, the global internet and entertainment group.

He was also a founder of the EU arm of US start-up studio/incubator, idealab, and part of the founding team of Overture Europe, which was sold to Yahoo.
