The number of trade buyers using the epyx 1link Disposal Network platform has passed 2,000 for the first time.

The company says the growth is directly linked to the changing preferences of buyers who increasingly want to purchase used vehicle stock online.

Growth is also being attributed to investment in the platform to improve usability.

Vicky Gardner, remarketing commercial manager at epyx, said: “We are seeing use of 1link Disposal Network increase massively on a month-by-month basis and that is because we are offering exceptional, ready to retail, mainly ex-fleet stock at a significantly lower cost of acquisition than traditional auctions.

“The new traders we have seen registering to use the platform are coming from right across the board – franchise dealers, independents and car supermarkets – and recent research we have undertaken indicated that 43% of them buy exclusively online.”

Epyx, owned by Fleetcor Technologies, specialises in e-commerce solutions for the automotive sector and is best -known for its 1link platforms, which improve the efficiency of major fleets and their suppliers, covering functions including vehicle procurement, maintenance, hire, disposal and relicensing.

The platform has been adopted by companies operating more than three million vehicles, around 18,000 service providers, and nearly all motor manufacturers on behalf of their franchise networks.
