A donation of £10,000 has been handed to the Make a Wish charity by the Asset Finance Professionals Association (AF-PA) following its summer networking event.

Make a Wish arranges experiences, described as wishes, for children with life-threatening medical conditions.

The event, supported by Cordoba Rewards, Global Lifecycle Solutions, Grant Thornton, Robinson Toms Recruitment, Asset Advantage and Vitrx, took place at The Yacht, in London, during July.

Funds were raised through ticket sales, an auction and raffle, with around 200 people attending.

The AF-PA has raised more than £100,000 for various charities since its formation five years ago.

AF-PA chairman Johnnie Halliday and founder Peter McDonnell recently handed over the donation to Make a Wish.

Make a Wish spokeswoman Natasha Dubash said: “We really appreciate the voluntary efforts of AF-PA in making such a generous donation. This donation will go towards granting two magical wishes for children and young people fighting life-threatening conditions”

The AF-PA’s next event will be on December 6. For details email events@af-pa.org or visit the charity’s website at www.af-pa.org
