Senior Underwriter – Asset Finance – Hybrid, City of London / Essex / Home based – 2845

up to £75,000 + 10% bonus + excellent benefits.

Our client a long established highly successful asset financier are seeking an experienced senior underwriter to join their underwriting team.

Reporting to the Head of Credit & Risk you will be part of a team of 6 focussed on the underwriting of largely broker introduced business across largely hard assets but also some soft assets but also looking at transactions from HNW individuals sourced from our clients parent group.

It is expected that you will have a day one credit authority of £150,000 and over time this will rise to £350,000.

Our clients average lend is c£125,000 and with a range from £25,000 through to maximum exposures of c£5m in asset finance and to £10m for block discounting lines.

This year volumes of broker introduced business will be in the region of £150M with a further lend in their block discounting operation of c£50m. The last couple of years have seen very substantial growth and this trajectory growth is forecasted to continue.

Candidate Profile

Our client are seeking applications from experienced middle ticket asset finance underwriters ideally with a breadth of hard asset experience.

Those with experience of broker driven business are of particular interest as are those with experience of block discounting in addition to asset finance. However this experience is not a pre-requisite to apply.

Those with soft asset experience are welcome to apply providing you do have a reasonable amount of hard asset experience within your career to date even if not in your current role.

To apply you must be able to work from our clients City of London offices for 2/3 days a week with the balance from home or our clients head office in Essex.

It is anticipated that your time spent at our clients head office in Essex will diminish over time to perhaps 2 days a month but initially you will spend more of your time there perhaps 1/2 days a week.
