Published: 2nd January 2025 Share Sean Blinkhorn, Commercial Manager at SAF Solutions, reflects on 2024 and shares predictions for the asset finance market in 2025 As we approach the end of 2024, it’s the perfect time to reflect on a year that has brought significant change and opportunity to the asset finance market. This year has seen businesses adapt to economic challenges with renewed confidence, embracing flexible financing solutions to support growth, innovation, and sustainability. We recently had the opportunity to speak with Sean Blinkhorn, Commercial Manager at SAF Solutions, about his thoughts on the asset finance market this year, and what might be in store for 2025 and beyond. How would you describe 2024 in terms of the asset finance market in the UK? 2024 has been a year of cautious optimism and strategic investments. Following a challenging few years, businesses are increasingly turning to asset finance as a key tool to support sustainable growth and adopt new technologies. At SAF Solutions, we’ve observed a notable shift in how companies approach capital investment, with a growing preference for flexible and innovative financing solutions that align with their long-term strategies. As we look ahead to 2025, do you think the industry is in better or worse shape than it was 12 months ago? We’re optimistic about the outlook for 2025. While the industry has faced significant challenges over the past year, we believe it is emerging stronger, with an increasing number of opportunities for growth and transformation. Businesses are recognising that investment in new technology is no longer optional – it is a critical part of maintaining competitiveness in today’s markets. Both emerging startups and established organisations are seeking tailored solutions to support their innovation goals and future-proof their operations. Additionally, there is a growing understanding that investment in technology is not about chasing trends but about managing risk and ensuring resilience. Companies that fail to innovate face significant challenges, making flexible financing solutions a valuable asset for staying ahead in rapidly evolving markets. What are your predictions for the market in 2025 – are you expecting more demand/growth? Multiple sectors will face challenges and opportunities in the coming year, making asset finance an important factor for growth and resilience. In recent months, we’ve noticed a rise in inquiries from our supplier partners regarding finance agreements in healthcare, education, and modular housing. We anticipate significant growth in these sectors in the coming months and years, as we assist their efforts by providing flexible funding solutions that promote innovation, sustainability, and resilience. As we look ahead to 2025, we’re excited to continue working with our trusted supplier partners while also forging new partnerships.
