Sword Apak’s continuing expansion has led to the company moving to an innovative new head office.

The aim is to enable the growing team to cater for a global customer base under one roof and to accommodate planned future growth.

Founded by Tony Papadopoulos from a kitchen table in Bristol in 1979, the company stressed the importance of staying close to its Bristol, UK, roots and to be creating significant new employment opportunities to support its leading edge technology.

From its origins Sword Apak has continued to grow in scale and reputation providing specialist software expertise to a growing portfolio of banking and automotive finance companies worldwide.

Today over 160 people make up the Sword Apak team in the UK with further team members assigned internationally. The business is targeting to increase headcount across the business to 500 over the next five years; a growth programme that has already started.

Amongst a range of promotions, James Powell, (pictured right above) previously sales director has been promoted to executive vice president. Also Glenn Sandgren-Clarke moves to COO from his previous position of deployment director and Doriene Viera is promoted to global vice president of business development.
In the US, Jodie Jewell is promoted from PMO director to vice president of operations (Americas).

Tony Allen, Sword Apak’s CEO (pictured left above) explained: “The substantial office investment enables the company to bring its UK team together under one roof. The contemporary open space environment is designed to enhance employee engagement and internal communication in line with the business’ culture of engagement and creativity.

“It is a dynamic approach that is clearly winning new friends because the new office space has been designed to accommodate planned expansion.”   Allen added that Sword Apak is recruiting actively and is seeking both experienced developers and new business and computer science graduates looking to begin their career in an innovative company where their ideas can make a difference and they can grow and develop with the business.

“Sword Apak’s vibrant new office space comes at a very exciting time for the company as we continue to grow globally and we invest in our employees and products to support our valued clients,” Allen said, “The design echoes our future-facing and innovative business and our commitment to employees to provide them with somewhere truly unique to work, which will enhance internal relationships and communication.”
