Shoosmiths has appointed Shama Perera as the new director of business development & marketing.

Perera will drive the firm’s client-led growth strategy across the firm’s core practice areas of real estate, corporate and litigation and five sectors of energy and infrastructure, mobility, financial services, living and technology.

She brings a wealth of experience to Shoosmiths having held senior leadership positions at leading global, US and magic circle firms. During her career, Shama has developed and executed comprehensive business development strategies, client engagement initiatives, and impactful marketing campaigns.

Over the last six months the firm have hired and promoted 12 partners across its corporate, advisory services and real estate practices along with three directors in addition to Shama, as Chief Executive David Jackson pushes his transformation agenda to become a leading upper-mid market firm by 2030.
