It is the only electric LCV rental contract of its kind where a single monthly payment covers a fully maintained vehicle and a charger which Northgate has developed to make the switch to an EV as easy as possible for businesses and their drivers. The bundle includes installation of a 7kw charging unit, which will be supplied and installed by Northgate’s charging partner, ChargedEV. All charging units come with servicing and maintenance included within the monthly bundle price. Businesses also have access to an online platform for full visibility of their drivers charging use and a ‘company wallet’ function which can be used to set charging reimbursement plans. Within the platform, a charging app allows the driver to access auto scheduled charging to take advantage of cheaper tariff hours. The charging platform can set up multiple payment methods for drivers using both personal and business payment cards, which will help reduce administration time for the fleet manager. Launched as a key component in Northgate’s Drive to Zero fleet electrification program, the new bundle initiative aims to help make it more straightforward for businesses switching to electric vehicles. “Supporting our customers with their switch to EVs has always been important to Northgate. They said they wanted to take the complexity out of switching to electric light commercials which we have done. “This is the first time an integrated package of this type has been made available for a single monthly price which we are very excited about,” said James Eustace, Northgate’s Director of Product and Marketing.
