AF50UK 2020: Nine asset finance companies revealed as sector leaders

The annual Asset Finance 50 UK has revealed nine companies that are leading their sectors for growth or size in the £40 billion asset finance market.

The AF50 list of industry leaders is based on data from the exclusive 2020 Asset Finance UK 50 report.

Lombard is listed as the largest leasing company overall, with parent company RBS named as the largest banking group.

Fast-growing asset finance provider Simply is named twice in the industry leaders summary, firstly as the leasing company with the largest annual percentage growth (88%) and as the independent equipment finance company with the largest percentage growth.

Other sector leaders with the largest percentage growth are IBM (manufacturer-owned leasing company) and ALD (fleet lessor).

Aldermore is named as the leasing company with the biggest growth of its loan book in terms of cash value.

Finally, three sector leaders are identified based on the size of their net investment in business equipment leasing, with PACCAR named the largest manufacturer-owned leasing companies, Lex Autolease named top fleet lessor and Hitachi named top equipment independent.
