Appointments New joint managing director at Volkswagen Financial Services UK Published: 8th August 2014 Share Albert van den Bergh has taken over as joint managing director of the Volkswagen Financial Services UK Ltd (VWFS), from July 1, 2014, replacing Lisa Stacey who is returning to the post of joint managing director in VWFS Australia, after three years in the UK. Van den Bergh will be working alongside long standing managing director, Graham Wheeler. Van den Bergh has amassed over 26 years’ experience in the automotive finance sector, including 10 years’ working for the Dutch Financial Services joint venture, formed jointly by the private importer Pon and VWFS. Over his tenure, the Dutch VWFS division grew from 250 to 450 FTE’s which subsequently delivered an increase to the balance sheet totaling €2.8 billion. Prior to that he amassed over 12 years’ experience with KPMG as a chartered accountant. Van den Bergh will be joining VWFS UK Ltd, after three years of “extraordinary” growth culminating in the business seeing over 290,000 finance contracts, over 320,000 insurance and aftersales contracts, £4.2 billion of retail and fleet lending, 42.3% new vehicle penetration and a total contract portfolio of 1.2 million customers. In addition to the of their new head office development in Milton Keynes, UK, costing £36m, his appointment heralds the next chapter in significant planned growth for VWFS UK Ltd.
