Jonathan Andrew, chief executive of the Commercial Finance Division of Siemens Financial Services (SFS), has been recognised as Leasing Foundation European CEO of the Year for 2014 at the Leasing Foundation’s second annual conference in Paris.

The award was sponsored by Great American Lease and Loan Insurance Services.

The award, presented for the first time this year, recognises “an outstanding leasing and asset finance leader in Europe whose passionate leadership has not only ensured that their company thrives in a constantly changing business environment, but one who is focused on nurturing the industry and has demonstrated a commitment to the principles on which the Foundation is based”.

Speaking about the award, Foundation governor and chair of judges John Howland-Jackson explained: “We were keen to directly link the key themes of the Foundation’s work to the notion of business prosperity.

“We were seeking a candidate who was leading a thriving business, someone who was driving change along lines similar to those espoused by the Foundation in recognition of how this links with the success of their business, and someone who had been able to demonstrate support for the Foundation through his or her own actions.

“Our winner ticks just about all the boxes – business success, philanthropy, people development and research commitment.”

Previously Jonathan Andrew was chief executive for the Commercial Finance Division of SFS for Europe and Asia Pacific, following his role as chief executive for SFS operations in the UK, France, Spain and Italy. He joined Siemens in 2002, following four years as chief financial officer international, Gateway Inc., prior to which he held various leadership roles in GE Capital.
