Next year is set see compliance and regulation dominate the headlines in the finance sector.

A new set of EU data protection requirements comes into force in May 2018, considerably widening the scope of personal privacy in online processing, while the UK’s Financial Services Authority (FCA) has its eyes firmly on the auto finance market in a major review of lending in the sector.

At the International Auto Finance Network conference, to be held in London on January 26, 2018, speakers from the auto finance industry and leading legal experts will be outlining the shape of the new regulatory landscape and discussing how companies can ensure they stay on the right side of the law.

Topics under consideration include the General Data Protection Regulation, the introduction of the senior managers certification regime and Know Your Customer requirements.

Panellists, including Jay Parmar, from the British Vehicle Rental and Leasing Association, Peter Minter from Moneybarn (pictured above) and Paul Speakman from Automotive Compliance.

They will examine what needs to be done to meet regulatory changes and look at how auto finance companies can address new challenges proactively, seeking new ways to do business better.

Jo Davis from Locke Lord, and Ashley Winton, of McDermott Will and Emery, will provide expert legal input to the session.
