Michael Stewart has been appointed as Hyundai UK’s new fleet director to oversee the brand’s strategy and direction for corporate sales.

Stewart has more than 17 years of automotive and fleet experience and has previously worked with brands including Nissan, Mazda, and Vauxhall.

Tony Whitehorn, president and CEO, Hyundai Motor, said: “Michael Stewart’s appointment is an important one for Hyundai UK as we work on growing our market share, building on the reputation we’ve earned from fleet operators large and small.

“2018 will see comprehensive updates to key vehicles, alongside all-new model introductions, so now is a crucial time to retain existing business customers and grow our influence further.”

Stewart said: “I am looking forward to further enhancing the brand’s business offering and reputation in the sector.”

Since 2008, Hyundai has risen from 21st to one of the top 10 car manufacturers in the UK and last year sold more than 92,510 vehicles, a new record for the brand.
