Technology Sponsored by Technology Funding Xchange appoints Paul Gordon as Chairman Published: 6th January 2025 Share Funding Xchange (FXE), provider of assisted lending and portfolio monitoring solutions that leverage smart background data, has appointed Paul Gordon as Non-Executive Chair of the Group. Gordon will help steer the Group to the next stages of growth that build on the successful delivery of SME lending technology to a range of leading financial institutions like Barclays, Shawbrook and Monzo to enhance access to suitable lending solutions while reducing cost-to-serve. Paul Gordon joins FXE following the successful completion of FXE’s Series B funding round in 2024 that was led by Barclays. Gordon will be working with the management team to capitalise on the drive of banks to transform commercial lending through the adoption of assisted decisioning technology that facilitates faster more effective credit assessment. Paul Gordon recently announced his retirement from Lloyds Banking Group after a forty-year career spanning retail and commercial banking, including executive leadership roles in the UK, Australia and Asia as well as extensive Board-level experience, including as Chairman of the Agricultural Mortgage Corporation and a non-executive director of LDC – LBG’s equity investment arm. In his most recent role as Managing Director, Relationship Management, Business & Commercial Banking, Gordon has seen first-hand the opportunities and challenges of adoption of digital technology in commercial lending. On joining Funding Xchange, Paul Gordon said, “Funding Xchange is changing the way in which businesses gain access to finance and helping lenders develop smarter, more efficient digital tools and pathways. “I very much look forward to working with Katrin and the team as the business continues transforming the way the commercial financing market operates.” Paul Gordon succeeds Simon Featherstone, who joined the business five years ago and led Funding Xchange through its successful Series B funding supporting the scaling up of FXE Technologies, the business’ technology arm.
