The e-Fleet app is personalised for each driver irrespective of the vehicle funder, and contains all the support information a driver might need for their specific vehicle, as well as allowing company car and salary sacrifice car drivers to order a new or replacement vehicle and carry out a host of essential tasks. Fleet Alliance has seen continual growth of battery electric vehicles (BEVs) and hybrid (HEVs) within its managed fleet of over 30,000 vehicles in the first six months of the year. From January to end of June, some 77% of new vehicle orders have been BEVs (42%) and HEVs (35%), the highest market share for both model types the company has recorded to date, as more drivers have switched from ICE models to take advantage of the cost and environmental benefits of running electric or hybrid vehicles. “Making life as easy as possible for the driver is hugely important. The new wave of electric vehicles coming on to fleets are often like mobile phones on wheels with intuitive interfaces,” said Fleet Alliance CEO, Andy Bruce. “e-Fleet offers fleet managers an essential tool for keeping drivers fully supported and self-sufficient while on the road, and helps reduce the administrative burden of supporting drivers on a day-to-day basis. “So, it was important that our e-Fleet driver app kept pace with the market and provided an upgraded driver experience,” he added. The new version of the e-Fleet driver app represents a significant technical upgrade. Drivers will find a real improvement to the user experience with consistency of appearance across all platforms, but with a particular focus on a greatly streamlined mobile interface alongside a number of functionality improvements. “The e-Fleet app is fleet management for drivers on the move, conveniently accessible from mobile phone, tablet or PC. And this is one of several upgrades we are making to the e-Fleet app. “We hope users will notice all the changes that we have made to improve the driver experience, and there are more upgrades planned in the future,” added Bruce. Amongst a host of driver support services, the e-Fleet driver app allows drivers to submit a regular vehicle inspection report at any interval designated by their employer. They can also input business and personal mileage and log all essential business trips. The available actions allow fleet managers to push out notifications to drivers for regular fleet management tasks to ensure they are being carried out, even remotely, as well as addressing health and safety and duty of care issues, thus reducing potential road risk.
