Appointments David Gerstner appointed to Management Board of Deutsche Leasing Published: 31st December 2024 Share The Supervisory Board of Deutsche Leasing has appointed David Gerstner to the Management Board with effect from 1 December 2025. David Gerstner, currently Deputy Chairman of Sparkasse Hochrhein, will take over the department focusing on savings bank and SME business. He will succeed Rainer Weis, who will retire on 30 November 2025 after 15 years on the Management Board of Deutsche Leasing. “With David Gerstner, Deutsche Leasing is gaining an experienced savings bank expert. He has extensive expertise in the successful management and strategic development of financial institutions,” said Alexander Wüerst, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Deutsche Leasing. David Gerstner is currently Deputy Chairman of Sparkasse Hochrhein. He previously worked for several years at Kreissparkasse Esslingen-Nürtingen in management positions, most recently as Head of Key Account & Corporate Finance and Deputy Member of the Management Board. Following an apprenticeship at Dresdner Bank and a degree in business administration, he began his career at Landesbank Baden-Württemberg, where he worked as an Authorised Signatory and Senior Project Manager in the corporate loans department. “We are delighted to have found an orderly succession plan at such an early stage,” said Kai Ostermann, CEO of Deutsche Leasing. “We would like to thank Rainer Weis for his great commitment over many years – especially in the successful intensification of intra-Group business with the savings banks.
