Appointments CIT bolsters ranks with new senior appointment for small business unit Published: 15th August 2019 Share Ken Martin has joined CIT Group as managing director of its Small Business Solutions unit. Part of its Business Capital division, the unit provides technology-enabled solutions and offers structuring expertise to a variety of small, medium and large businesses. The company claims that the point-of-sale finance platform provides an end-to-end lending experience in five minutes. Robert Rubino, N.A president and head of commercial banking, added: “CIT is focused on growing and investing in our business. Ken will drive our strategy forward as we deliver small and medium-sized businesses the financial agility and expertise they need to thrive.” With significant experience in the industry, Martin’s most notable appointments include managing director of Business Banking at Santander Bank, and executive vice president and director of commercial enterprise banking at RBS Citizens where he spearheaded a high-performing sales culture and was responsible for creating the go-to market strategy. Following this, Martin was the chief lending officer responsible for commercial banking activities at Berkshire Bank before progressing to his last role as regional president at the Bank. Mike Jones, president of CIT Business Capital, explained: “Ken is a seasoned commercial banker, strategic leader and collaborative partner. I’m pleased to have him join the CIT team to lead the next chapter of our growth in serving small business customers across the country.
