Arval’s leased fleet saw 5.6% increase in 2024

Arval, a prominent player in long-term vehicle leasing and mobility solutions, concluded 2024 with remarkable business results, achieving a 5.6% growth in its leased fleet. By the end of the year, Arval’s global fleet consisted of 1,796,396 vehicles.

“In 2024, we confirmed the strength of our collective and partnership momentum by making major strategic advances,” said Alain van Groenendael, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Arval.

“Together, thanks to the mobilisation of our employees, the support of BNP Paribas and the trust of our partners, we have been able to take new steps to better support our customers in their mobility and their energy transition. These solid foundations enable us to approach 2025 with ambition and determination, ready to take on new challenges and continue to create sustainable value in a profoundly changing market,” he added.

Fleet growth and electrification

Arval’s leased fleet saw significant organic growth, including a notable increase in electrified vehicles. The number of electrified vehicles reached 573,086, marking a 31% increase compared to 2023. Battery electric vehicles (BEVs) saw a remarkable 52% increase, with a total of 253,373 BEVs in the fleet. These vehicles represented 22.6% of new vehicle orders in 2024.

Partnerships and international presence

Throughout 2024, Arval secured numerous partnerships, strengthening its international presence and enriching its offerings. The Element-Arval Global Alliance, a leading fleet management partnership, expanded its services to over 4.5 million vehicles in 55 countries, highlighting the success of its collaborative approach.

Arval’s corporate clients, including international large corporates and retail segment customers, contributed significantly to the fleet’s growth. The retail segment alone reached 554,000 vehicles, a 9% increase from the previous year. Additionally, Arval’s extended mobility solutions saw over 410,000 users, with significant growth in the Arval Mobility Pass and bike users.

Commitment to sustainable mobility

Arval’s dedication to sustainable mobility is evident in its ambitious goals and innovative initiatives. The Arval Beyond strategic plan aims to accelerate the transition to sustainable mobility, with a strong focus on supporting clients in adopting electric mobility. Arval provided extensive consulting services and facilitated access to over 700,000 charging points, ensuring a seamless experience for electric vehicle users.

In 2024, Arval launched the Arval Energy initiative to create synergies between mobility and energy, including Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) and Vehicle-to-Home (V2H) technologies. Arval also became a member of Smart Energy Europe and invested in the Shift4Good venture capital fund, further reinforcing its commitment to decarbonising the transport industry.

Recognition and future ambitions

Arval received the EcoVadis Platinum medal for its exceptional commitment to environmental, social, and governance practices, placing it among the top 1% of assessed companies.

Looking ahead, Arval’s strategic plan “Arval 26 & Beyond” will continue to guide its efforts in supporting clients’ electrification of their fleets and promoting low-carbon mobility solutions. With ongoing partnerships and a focus on customer satisfaction, Arval is well-positioned to maintain its positive momentum and achieve its ambitious goals by the end of 2026.
