Leasing Professionals AF-PA announces development plans Published: 1st November 2017 Share The Asset Finance Professionals Association has announced a series of developments following a survey of its membership. Among the findings, members praised the work of the association and asked for additional events, more regular communication and supported development initiatives, such as a new website. In response, the association is in the process of constructing a new website, which will involve securing industry funding from partners. Vitrix and Shoosmiths have signed up as the first sponsors, with two more required. The association has also confirmed its Christmas networking drinks event for December 6 at Marylebone Sports Bar and announced it will be supporting the Leasing & Finance Industry Christmas charity lunch in aid of Macmillan on December 15. Additional networking events are planned for 2018, including golfing tournaments. AF-PA chairman Johnnie Halliday said: “We look forward to building on what we have started in 2017, beating our charity target whilst continuing to be a network for all our new and existing members and asset finance industry friends at whatever level of their careers.” The AF-PA is a UK association for professionals at all levels working in or associated with the asset finance industry, offering networking opportunities while raising money for good causes. In a further announcement, the association said George Ashworth, managing director of asset finance at Santander UK, and Philip White, commercial director at Wesleyan Bank, have joined AF-PA as patrons.
