Philippe Bazin has been appointed as the new head of sustainable energy at Hitachi Capital Business Finance. He previously spent eight years heading up the team responsible for lending project finance debt to the UK and Irish sustainable energy markets and more recently the UK’s nascent sustainable transport sector at the sustainable bank Triodos Bank UK.

Bazin brings fifteen years’ experience in commercial roles in the waste and renewable energy sector to this new role, and has deep experience in the financing of a broad range of projects, technologies and business models.

Geoff Maleham, managing director at Hitachi Capital Business Finance, commented: “Sustainability has been at the very heart of how Hitachi Capital coordinates business for many years and we have a longstanding commitment to doing what we can to support communities and the environment. We are extremely pleased therefore to welcome the addition of Philippe to the Hitachi Capital team. His years of experience will be important in evolving our commitment to becoming more sustainable and helping us meet our green targets”

Philippe Bazin, head of sustainable energy, said: “My passion is for projects that create positive outcomes for the environment and society. So many businesses make promises to be more sustainable in the future, but the environment needs our attention now not later. This new role enables me to help Hitachi Capital Business Finance as well as the wider group grow its sustainable finance offering and lending, become a greener and more sustainable business itself and help its customers and clients do so to.”
