Leasing Professionals AF-PA celebrates record year of fundraising Published: 2nd February 2018 Share The Asset Finance Professionals Association broke its fundraising record during 2017, with more than £50,000 in donations. Its traditional networking gathering at the Marylebone Sports Bar raised £12,000, which was shared between the British Lung Foundation (BLF) and Off the Fence, a Brighton and Hove-based charity that fights poverty. The BLF contribution was in memory of John Allen, the founder and developer of Finlex, the finance management system for SME lenders. At the AF-PA-backed Christmas charity lunch at the Institute of Directors, a total of £30,800 was raised in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support. Johnnie Halliday, AF-PA chair, said: “We were thrilled to be offered the opportunity to become associated with such a traditional high point in the UK finance and leasing calendar.” Halliday also paid special tribute to IAA chairman Derek Soper and the IAA organisation, together with master of ceremonies and fund-raising auctioneer Richard Adler. On a combined basis the AF-PA had more than 550 attendees at three events during 2017 and raised a total of £50,800.
