Siemens unveils new program to empower startups

Share

At CES 2025, Siemens has announced the launch of Siemens for Startups, a new initiative aimed at empowering early-stage engineering and manufacturing startups. This program is designed to help innovative companies accelerate development, reduce costs, and scale their solutions more effectively by offering access to Siemens’ advanced technology, tools, and resources.

“Startups are essential to making our customers more competitive, sustainable, and resilient,” said Peter Koerte, Member of the Managing Board of Siemens AG, Chief Technology Officer, and Chief Strategy Officer.

“By collaborating with startups, Siemens helps bring breakthrough ideas to industries faster, empowering customers to address global challenges more effectively with cutting-edge technologies, tools, and solutions.”

The Siemens for Startups program is built on three core pillars:

  1. Connect: Startups will gain access to the Siemens Xcelerator marketplace, providing a global go-to-market channel and entry into Siemens’ extensive ecosystem.
  2. Collaborate: Siemens will engage with startups as early customers and co-developers through venture clienting, giving startups critical early revenue while Siemens benefits from emerging capabilities and innovations.
  3. Empower: Participating startups will receive tailored access to Siemens Xcelerator software tools, ranging from product design to manufacturing solutions.

Strategic partnership with AWS

As part of the program, Siemens has expanded its collaboration with Amazon Web Services (AWS). Together, they aim to streamline development and enable startups to scale faster by integrating Siemens’ industrial software with AWS’s cloud infrastructure and startup programs.

“Collaborating with Siemens allows us to extend the capabilities of our AWS Startup program to a new generation of innovators in the engineering and manufacturing space,” said Jon Jones, Vice President and Global Head of Startups at AWS.

This partnership ensures that startups can leverage AWS Activate credits, business development resources, and advanced tools like generative AI to bring their ideas to market faster while driving industry-wide innovation.

Showcasing startup innovation

Siemens spotlighted six innovative startups at CES 2025 that exemplify the potential of its new program:

  • Arkisys: Developing scalable space platforms for technology hosting, assembly, and manufacturing in orbit.
  • Dirac: Revolutionising automated manufacturing workflows with BuildOS, which converts CAD designs into interactive, assembly-ready 3D instructions.
  • EthonAI: Improving operational KPIs through an AI-powered Manufacturing Analytics System, achieving waste reductions of over 50%.
  • Haddy: Pioneering sustainable furniture manufacturing using 3D printing and robotics within local micro-factories.
  • Instrumental: Automating failure discovery in electronics manufacturing, accelerating product development cycles.
  • Tended: Enhancing safety in high-risk environments using wearable technology and geospatial data.
