Licence Check integrates Driver App with DAVIS Fleet

Licence Check has announced the integration of its Driver App with its analytical fleet management solution, DAVIS Fleet, offering fleet managers more robust functionality and enhanced control over their vehicles in real time.

The award-winning DAVIS Fleet solution, designed to deliver proactive and timely fleet management decisions, now incorporates the DAVIS Driver App, first launched in November. This integration allows fleet managers to manage vehicles more efficiently, with faster data relay from drivers, improving response times while maintaining a simple, user-friendly interface.

The Driver App serves as a two-way information channel, offering drivers access to vital documents, such as insurance policies and company contacts, while allowing them to submit essential data like mileage and vehicle inspection results directly to the DAVIS Fleet system. This real-time exchange enables quicker decision-making for fleet managers, reducing administrative burdens and enhancing operational efficiency.

A key feature of the integration is the automation of driver tasks. Drivers are notified via the app when they need to perform tasks such as recording mileage or completing vehicle inspections. This minimises the need for fleet managers to follow up with drivers manually, improving compliance and reducing delays.

For example, managing vehicle defects has become more streamlined. Drivers can easily record issues through the app, uploading photos and comments for a detailed inspection report. This information is instantly shared with DAVIS Fleet, allowing fleet managers to assess defect severity and manage necessary repairs more efficiently.

The App’s “Glovebox” feature allows fleet managers to upload and share company documents with drivers instantly, obtaining e-signatures for confirmation. This is particularly useful for updating driver policies or distributing critical information, such as emergency contact details and breakdown services.

In addition to improving operational efficiency, the integration also facilitates the management of fines, such as DART charges, parking permits, and subscription renewals. Fleet managers can assign fines to specific drivers or vehicles, flag repeat offenders, and set notifications for upcoming renewals.

The integration has been designed to avoid overwhelming fleet managers with excessive data. Instead, they are provided with a clear dashboard displaying key exceptions—such as mileage limits, unrecorded mileages, and reported defects—allowing for focused and efficient management. Custom reminders and comprehensive reports on various fleet variables add to the flexibility of the platform.

This development marks the latest in Licence Check’s strategic shift to reposition the DAVIS risk management platform from its original focus on licence checks to a comprehensive fleet management tool.

Keith Allen, managing director of Licence Check, highlighted the benefits of the integration, stating:

“By integrating our Driver App within DAVIS Fleet, fleet managers will be able to more effectively manage their vehicles, with greater visibility and to take pro-active and timely action to improve efficiency.”

“With the introduction of the Driver App, DAVIS offers a consolidated experience for managing drivers, vehicles and risk in a refreshingly uncomplicated format at a fraction of the price of traditional fleet management software,” he added.

Allen noted that DAVIS Fleet is fully customisable to meet the specific needs of each business, offering flexibility in managing drivers, vehicles, and fleet-related tasks.

“Integration of the App is just the latest in a stream of new developments for DAVIS Fleet as we evolve the platform to become an all-encompassing tool for managing fleet tasks and processes across all aspects of driver and vehicle risk,” he said.
