Stellantis gains momentum in EU30 market

Share

Stellantis posted robust results across the European automotive market in April, marking a significant milestone by increasing its total EU30 market share (passenger cars and commercial vehicles) to 17.3% – a 0.1 percentage point rise compared to April 2024. This marks the first monthly increase in share for Stellantis in 2025 and confirms the company’s strong resurgence across multiple key segments.

Among the standout performers were the Citroën C3 and PEUGEOT 208, which both secured spots in the Top 10 best-selling models in the region. Notably, the Citroën ë-C3 surged to the podium in the B-segment for battery electric vehicles (BEVs), underlining Stellantis’ growing influence in electric mobility.

The upward trend in order volumes also continues, with more than 1 million units ordered as of mid-May. Strong demand for the Citroën C3/Aircross, approaching 100,000 orders, and the PEUGEOT 3008, with around 50,000 units, underscores the sustained interest in the group’s offerings.

Stellantis further cemented its leadership in the hybrid segment, reaching a 15.1% market share in April – up 4.7 percentage points from the previous year. PEUGEOT was the fastest-growing hybrid brand, climbing to fourth place in the segment rankings.

In the commercial vehicles market, Stellantis Pro One reinforced its dominance with a 31.1% share in April, a notable increase of 2.3 percentage points versus April 2024. The group maintained the top position in eight out of the ten largest markets.

Market highlights by country:

  • France, Italy, and Portugal: Stellantis remains the leader in total and electric vehicle sales year-to-date.
  • Italy: The Jeep® Avenger leads the SUV segment; Alfa Romeo posted its best month in five years, with sales up 43% year-over-year.
  • Germany: Passenger vehicle volumes rose by 9.9%, with total market share growing by 6%. The Opel Corsa reaffirmed its position as the top city car.
  • United Kingdom: The Corsa continued its success, ranking as the number 1 city car both in April and year-to-date.
  • Spain: Stellantis claimed the top spot in BEV sales, powered by the strong performance of the Citroën ë-C3 and PEUGEOT e-2008.

Additionally, the recently launched Opel Frontera is quickly gaining traction in the competitive B-SUV segment, signaling further growth opportunities.

Luca Napolitano, Commercial Operations Officer at Stellantis, expressed optimism: “The return to a positive performance in terms of market share is an extremely promising sign for the future and indicates that we are on the right track to recover lost ground.

“This indication is supported by the positive trend in order intake, which is proceeding at full speed, and by the confirmation of our leadership in a strategic segment such as hybrid cars, which facilitate the transition to electric mobility. It is significant that even the international press has started to highlight this primacy.”
