Appointments Sponsored by Appointments Stellantis appoints Antonio Filosa as new CEO Published: 28th May 2025 Share Stellantis N.V. has announced the appointment of Antonio Filosa, a 25-year veteran of the automotive group, as its new Chief Executive Officer. Filosa, who currently serves as Chief Operating Officer for the Americas and Chief Quality Officer, will assume CEO responsibilities on June 23, 2025. The decision, unanimously approved by the company’s Board of Directors, follows an extensive internal and external search process led by a special committee chaired by Executive Chairman John Elkann. Filosa will be formally elected to the Board as an executive director at an upcoming Extraordinary Shareholder Meeting, expected to be convened in the coming days. Filosa’s appointment marks a pivotal moment for Stellantis as the company navigates a rapidly evolving global automotive landscape. Known for his hands-on leadership and international experience, Filosa brings a wealth of operational expertise and deep institutional knowledge to the role. “Antonio’s deep understanding of our Company, including its people who he views as our core strength, and of our industry equip him perfectly for the role of Chief Executive Officer in this next and crucial phase of Stellantis’ development,” said Executive Chairman John Elkann. “His strong and effective leadership spanning both North and South America has confirmed the excellent qualities he brings to the role.” Throughout his career, Filosa has held several key leadership positions across Stellantis’ global operations. As COO of South America, he played a critical role in turning the FIAT brand into the regional market leader while also expanding the presence of Peugeot, Citroën, Ram, and Jeep®. Notably, he spearheaded the launch of the Pernambuco plant in Brazil – one of South America’s largest automotive facilities – and helped make the country Jeep’s top market outside the US. His impact continued as Jeep® CEO, where he expanded the brand’s global footprint, including the successful launch of the Jeep Avenger in Europe. Most recently, since his promotion to COO of the Americas in December 2024, Filosa has focused on streamlining US operations, reducing excess dealer inventory, reshaping the leadership team, and enhancing collaboration with key stakeholders. “Antonio’s track record of successful leadership during his many years with our Company speaks for itself,” said Stellantis Vice Chairman Robert Peugeot. “This, together with his deep knowledge of our business and of the complex dynamics facing our industry, make him the natural choice to become Stellantis’ next CEO.” Filosa’s appointment comes at a time of transformation for Stellantis, as the company adapts to new market challenges, technological shifts, and sustainability goals. The Board emphasized his readiness to lead through this transition with a renewed focus on innovation, operational excellence, and global collaboration. “It is my great honour to be named the CEO of this fantastic Company,” Filosa said. “I have always been inspired by the immense talent, passion and commitment of our people at Stellantis. We have the world’s best and most iconic brands in automotive history and an over 100-year heritage of innovation. That legacy, combined with our relentless dedication to giving our customers the products and services they love, will continue to be key to our success.” Executive Chairman John Elkann will continue in his current role, working closely with Filosa as the company prepares for its next phase. Filosa is expected to announce a new leadership team following his official transition on June 23.
