Leasing Professionals Simply COO Ylva Oertengren awarded inaugural Women in Leasing trophy at IAFN Awards Published: 16th December 2019 Share Ylva Oertengren, the chief operating officer of innovative asset finance company Simply, has been awarded the inaugural Women in Leasing Award at the International Asset Finance Network Awards. The Women in Leasing Award was created to recognise the importance of diversity in the asset finance industry. The announcement was made in London during a packed ceremony, where a total of 18 awards were presented to industry leaders and companies. Dozens of senior industry figures took the role of independent judges to determine the winners, with the process verified as fair by chairman Adrian Dally, head of motor finance at the Finance and Leasing Association. Oertengren (pictured right receiving the award from Alfa CEO Andrew Denton) was commended for her role as an active campaigner with a clear vision of how the industry needs to transform itself. Edward Peck, co-founder of the International Asset Finance Network, said: “She is leading the way in developing the business she helped co-found that in a few short years has entered the AF50 listing of the UK’s 50 largest asset finance companies and she has run a series of workshops for the industry, recruiting the best and most innovative companies to talk to other finance providers in her role in the Leasing Foundation.” Oertengren said: “This award is for all the strong, professional, hard-working and inspiring women in this industry and those that will join in future.” Simply, which entered the AF50 for the first time this year, in 44th place, received two highly-commended awards on the night and earlier this year it was named European Equipment Finance Lessor of the Year at the summer IAFN conference and awards. For the International Asset Finance Network Conference and Awards, Alfa was headline sponsor, White Clarke Group was platinum sponsor, while NETSOL was gold sponsor. Genpact was AI insights leader. Teamwill Consulting was network sponsor for lunch and Bynx was network sponsor for registration and refreshments. Locke Lord was network sponsor for regulation and compliance.
