Shire Leasing marks Jubilee with 70 trees

Share

Shire Leasing is to commemorate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, which marks 70 years of royal service, by planting 70 trees a day for the entire month of June. CEO Mark Picken said: “As people throughout the UK come together to celebrate Her Majesty’s tremendous milestone, we also wish the greatest successes to all of our customers on their own journeys.”

Picken added: “As a British company, Shire Leasing are proudly committed to serving the diverse businesses of this great nation and we stand by UK SMEs on their unique journeys towards achieving their own milestones.”

In April this year, Shire Leasing announced it had commissioned the planting of over 5,000 trees through its ‘Tree for a Lease’ initiative, where every new lease transaction results in a tree being planted to support climate action and reforestation in North-West Madagascar.

This is one of several initiatives Shire Leasing is involved in to support the environment, as the lender has grown its focus on the importance of sustainability and climate action over the past few years. More localised work includes financially supporting UK SMEs to invest in zero/no emission vehicles through their Driving Clean Air programme, which provides financial assistance to businesses impacted by Clean Air Zones.
