Licence Check adds supplier management tool to DAVIS Fleet

Licence Check has introduced a new supplier management feature to its DAVIS Fleet platform, aimed at improving oversight of service, maintenance, and repair (SMR) spending for fleet and finance managers.

The latest update allows users to log all suppliers used for SMR work, such as servicing, tyre replacements, repairs, and glasswork, and break down expenditure by category and supplier. This enables organisations to identify where the largest portions of their SMR budget are being spent and to generate reports over set intervals, such as six or twelve months.

The move is part of a broader set of developments for DAVIS Fleet, part of Licence Check’s suite of risk management tools under the Driver and Vehicle Information Solutions (DAVIS) platform. The company, which operates under the Ebbon Fleet Solutions division, has recently launched several new modules, including vehicle inspections, downtime and defect tracking, BIK taxation insights, and fines management.

According to Licence Check, the supplier management feature is designed to help fleet managers make data-driven decisions without the need for intensive data analysis. It provides streamlined reporting on supplier usage and spend, supporting efforts to assess cost-effectiveness and improve procurement strategies.

Keith Allen, managing director of Licence Check, said: “This latest release adds further to the extensive armoury we are developing for fleet managers within DAVIS Fleet.

“Our objective is to make their roles more manageable, by the use of sophisticated, yet easy to use and transparent solutions to reduce task time and improve fleet management effectiveness.

“We have further new features in the pipeline which we will introduce on a planned basis and which will further consolidate vital fleet information into one integrated solution to allow fleet managers to do their job more efficiently,” he added.

The company reports strong uptake of other recently introduced tools, particularly the downtime management module. That tool allows fleet managers to monitor how long vehicles are off the road and can be used to evaluate vehicle reliability or inform negotiations with manufacturers.

The fines management tool has also seen positive feedback, offering the ability to log and track various penalties, from speeding fines to congestion charges, and attribute them to specific drivers and vehicles. It also supports the identification of high-risk drivers and potential recharges for incurred fines.

Unlike some fleet systems that overwhelm users with data, DAVIS Fleet is designed to highlight exceptions and key metrics through visual reports. These include trends in mileage, off-road time, driver performance, and reported defects.

Licence Check says additional updates to DAVIS Fleet are already in development and will be rolled out on a scheduled basis.
