Haydock Finance skydivers raise over £4,600 for domestic abuse charity

In an exhilarating display of courage and community spirit, seven brave employees from Haydock Finance leapt from a plane at a staggering 15,000 feet, free falling at speeds of up to 159 miles per hour, all in the name of charity.

The adrenaline-fuelled skydive was organised to raise vital funds for The Wish Centre, a Blackburn-based charity that supports victims of domestic abuse. So far, the daring effort has raised an incredible £4,940, with donations still being accepted.

“We did it! It was terrifying, thrilling, and totally worth it knowing the impact the money will have,” said one of the participants, Katie Whitehead “We’re proud to support such an important cause.”

This fundraising jump marks just one part of Haydock Finance’s continued commitment to The Wish Centre.  Debbie Hallam, Head of HR & Facilities at Haydock Finance, said: “We’re thrilled to continue our partnership with The Wish Centre. The skydive was just one way we could go the extra mile—well, extra 15,000 feet!—to show our support. With the increased need for their services, every pound raised makes a difference.”

The Wish Centre provides essential support to over 3,800 individuals annually, many of whom are in crisis situations with nowhere else to turn. Funds from the skydive and the events supported by Haydock Finance will help ensure the charity can continue offering safe accommodation and critical support to women and children fleeing abuse.

Rebekah Wilson, from The Wish Centre, added: “We are incredibly grateful for the bravery and generosity shown by the Haydock team. Every effort—whether it’s skydiving or sponsoring our event—directly helps us change lives.”
