DF Capital confirms move to iconic Manchester office

DF Capital has confirmed plans to move its headquarters to The Express Building in Manchester’s Northern Quarter later this year.

The specialist bank, which provides working capital solutions and savings products across the UK, has signed a ten-year lease for around 23,000 square feet of office space across two floors of the Grade II-listed building. Built in 1939, The Express Building was originally the home of the Daily Express newspaper and remains one of the city’s most recognisable examples of Art Deco architecture.

The move marks the bank’s third office in Manchester and reflects its continued growth and expansion. DF Capital says the larger premises will support its growing workforce and encourage more collaborative working.

Carl D’Ammassa, CEO of DF Capital, said: “As a Manchester-based bank, we’re proud to continue investing in the city and in its local talent.

“This marks our third home here in Manchester and represents an exciting new chapter for us as we continue to scale the bank and grow our team further. The Express Building is a true Manchester landmark that shares our values of originality, bold thinking and creativity — qualities that define our people and the Northern Quarter itself. We look forward to welcoming our colleagues, clients and partners to our new home later this year.”

In addition to its location and size, the building also meets several environmental performance benchmarks, including an EPC rating of ‘B’ and a BREEAM In Use rating of ‘Very Good’. The bank says this aligns with its goal of reducing its environmental impact.

DF Capital is currently the only specialist bank with its head office based in central Manchester. The move is expected to be completed in the autumn.
