Asset Finance Connect launches practitioner panels at AFC Conference

Share

Asset Finance Connect will be running three practitioner panels at the AFC Conference next Tuesday in London adding an extra element in our usual discussion format. Instead of a moderator alone asking our interviewees all the questions, with the occasional additional question from delegates, we are now inviting a practitioner panel to join the moderator in providing commentary and firing questions at the interviewees.

Helena Thernstrom, a board member of the Leasing Foundation, has been working with Edward Peck to establish the new format. She commented:

“I was delighted to work with Edward to find a way to extend the moderation work carried out by Asset Finance Connect’s team of community leaders to include a wider group of participants and perspectives in the debates and discussions. Members of these practitioner panels will be briefed on the topics ahead of time and, bringing their skills, experience and individual perspectives to bear, they will share their reflections and pose questions to the interviewees on the day.”

AFC founder Edward Peck said “This is a first step in a process designed to help build the community at our conferences and to make them even better.

“We know the bits of the conference that our delegates enjoy most are the participative ones – and we are looking for people who can make more interaction happen.”

“We are looking for volunteers to join our future practitioners panels and we are looking for a diverse spectrum of perspectives across all levels of seniority and practice areas. No previous experience is required and whether your reason for wanting to join a panel is to raise profile,  build interviewing and public speaking skills, or indeed anything else – we would love to hear from you as we evolve our conference formats to be more inclusive and interactive.”
