Allica Bank has secured the second spot in the software category of the inaugural Sunday Times 100 Tech list, which highlights Britain’s fastest-growing private technology companies. The bank, dedicated to empowering small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), achieved an impressive 537% revenue growth.

The Sunday Times 100 Tech list features companies with exceptional revenue growth over the past three years. It spotlights innovative and entrepreneurial firms that leverage technology to drive their success. To qualify, businesses must be independent, privately owned, and headquartered in the UK, while showcasing technology central to their operations.

Allica’s latest achievement follows a year of significant milestones, including surpassing £3 billion in lending and £4 billion in deposits last month. In 2024, Allica was also named Britain’s fastest-growing firm, according to Sunday Times research. These accomplishments have cemented the fintech company as a critical player in helping SMEs thrive.

The fintech sector proved to be a standout in the inaugural rankings, with start-ups like Zilch, Chip, and Sokin joining Allica in the top 10, reflecting the industry’s growing importance in empowering individuals and businesses to better manage their finances.

The Sunday Times 100 Tech list is divided into two categories: software and hardware. Topping the software rankings is Evergreen Life, a HealthTech firm from Salford, which achieved 554% growth through its app empowering users to take control of their health. Leading the hardware category is Pure Data Centres, reporting 374% turnover growth from its work with hyperscale tech giants.

The top 100 companies collectively represent entrepreneurial Britain’s resilience, innovation, and forward-thinking strategies. Together, they anticipate creating over 4,200 new jobs in the next year, with 17 companies in the list being led or co-founded by women.
