Aldermore Bank has appointed Oli Watts as Commercial Director of Structured Finance within its Business Finance leadership team.

In this newly created role, Watts will lead Aldermore’s expansion into structured funding solutions for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), with a particular focus on asset-backed transactions.

Watts brings over 25 years of experience in the financial services industry. He joins Aldermore from ABN AMRO, where he served as Managing Director of Asset Based Finance UK. His career began as a Management Accountant and progressed through senior finance leadership roles, including Finance Director at RBS Invoice Finance and NatWest Commercial and Corporate Banking, before moving into customer-focused positions such as Head of Client Management, Invoice Finance at NatWest.

“I’m delighted to welcome Oli to our Business Finance leadership team,” said Danielle Soto, Managing Director of Business Finance and Savings at Aldermore. “His deep sector experience and proven ability to drive high-value transactions will help Aldermore deliver more tailored, end-to-end funding solutions for growing SMEs — particularly in areas where bespoke structures can unlock real growth.”

Commenting on his appointment, Oli Watts said: “I’m excited to join Aldermore at a time when UK businesses need more flexible, sophisticated funding than ever. Aldermore’s agility and customer focus mean we can deliver truly tailored financing solutions. Mid-market SMEs are the backbone of the UK economy, and I’m keen to accelerate our ability to support ambitious businesses as they scale.”
